How we source listings

This page explains where every fact on a WorldTVRadio guide comes from, how often it is refreshed, and what we refuse to publish.

Sources

  • Fixtures: event name, competition, round, venue and the UTC start time come from the leagues' published schedules and from international fixture feeds for each competition we cover.
  • Broadcasters in the United States and Canada: for MLB, NHL and NFL games the networks, streaming services and radio stations come from the leagues' own schedule data, which is authoritative for those markets.
  • Broadcasters elsewhere: per-country channel and streaming listings come from international TV-listings feeds covering more than forty countries. We show every listed rights holder, grouped by country, with the biggest markets first.
  • Season rights holders: for competitions where one platform carries every match of the season (for example the UEFA club competitions), a maintained rights table guarantees that platform appears on every guide, even when a daily feed omits it.
  • Times: every start time is stored in UTC and converted on the page to your time zone using your browser's clock. The times printed in the article text for New York, London and central Europe are calculated from the same UTC value. North American games are dated by their Eastern Time start.

The publishing rule

A guide is created only when at least one TV broadcaster is confirmed in a major market for the game. If a fixture has no confirmed rights holder yet, no page exists for it; it is checked again the next morning. This keeps the site free of empty "to be confirmed" pages.

Refresh schedule

The listings desk runs every day at 04:00 Eastern Time. It looks ahead a few days and publishes guides for newly confirmed games. Each guide shows the date and time it was last updated.

What we never do

  • We never invent, infer or copy a broadcaster from a previous season. If it is not in the source data or the season rights table for that competition, it is not on the page.
  • We never link to unofficial or pirated streams, and we do not recommend using a VPN to bypass territorial rights.
  • We never present a fixture image as official artwork. Every guide image is a WorldTVRadio composite of the two teams' badges, watermarked WorldTVRadio.

Free-to-air and streaming labels

The "Can you watch it for free?" section is derived only from the broadcasters actually listed. A channel is described as free-to-air when it is a public or terrestrial network in its market; a service is described as streaming when it is an online subscription platform. Pricing and trial details change often, so check the provider before subscribing.

Corrections

If a listing is wrong or a broadcaster is missing, report it to the listings desk. We check reports against the rights holder's published schedule and correct the guide at the next refresh.
