Wordltvradio's Online tuner - Country/State: Palau

Palau, colloquially called Belau by native speakers, and formerly known as Pelew is now officially named the Republic of Palau.  This island nation, part of Micronesia,  is located in the Pacific Ocean about 2,000 miles south of Tokyo, Japan.  In 1994, it was a United Nations trusteeship administered by the United States; today,  it is both the youngest country and the tiniest sovereign nation in the world.  Its economy is based on tourism because both water and land display the most exotic flora and fauna in Micronesia.  In the water, Palau has a reputation as a diver’s paradise because of a surprising range of rare sea creatures, like giant clams weighing a quarter of a ton and millions of jellyfish (that don’t sting).  In addition, divers can enjoy swimming with multicolored fish, swimming over massive coral reefs and shipwrecks, and swimming into tunnels, caves, and blue holes.  Snorkeling and diving are considered the most fun thing to do here.  On land, crocodiles slither through mangrove swamps, backyards proudly display a profuse variety of orchids, and the sky and trees are alive with tropical birds, pelicans, and cormorants. The Palauan archipelago, known as the Black Islands in vintage European maps, is a diverse necklace of islands and atolls like Koror, Babeldoab, Peleliu, Angaur, Kayangel, Ngeruangel, and other remote South Western Islands.  Paluans are not originally Micronesians but represent the peoples of Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melansia, with many of the early settlers sailing here from Polynesia and Asia.  English speakers  will enjoy WorldTVRadio Tuner Palau radio station from WWFM 89.5 for a broad coverage of talk shows, news and popular music from the city of Koror.
